VOTE

I am taking a break from posting food for today.  Today I am going to post about something closer to my heart... voting.

Everyone should go vote.  Unless you are a wealthy white man, your right to vote was fought for.  Heck, even rich white guys had to fight the British for their right to vote.  I vote because my dad would not have been allowed to vote about 140 years ago.  I vote because my grandmother couldn't.  I vote because I want my daughter to be able to choose how to live her own life.  I vote because I want my parents to have health care available to them as they grow older.  I vote because I care about my neighbors.  I vote because if I lived in a country on the other side of the world, my voice might not matter.  I vote because I can.

Apathy drives me mad.  People who don't vote are apathetic.  Excuses for apathy are pathetic.  Do your civic duty.  Go out and vote.
